The Function and Structure of X Ring
In terms of sealing efficiency, X Ring is more than twice O Ring, and can be used in static and dynamic sealing. Compared with O Rings, X Ring has two layers of sealing surfaces. The double-layer structure requires less compression to maintain the sealing function, thus reducing friction and increasing the service life of X Rings. The O Ring uses the irregular surface of the parting line to achieve a sealing effect, however, the parting line of the X Ring is between the blades, and the sealing surface is formed by the double lobed. The four-leaf structure of the X-ring produces a better sealing effect and offsets the rotation deformation, so it is better than the O Ring in the application of rotary sealing. Therefore, the X Ring can be installed in a smaller groove, but also suitable for O Ring grooves.
